The anger at Mayor Thielemans’s ban of the 11th September Brussels demo has sparked a torch of unprecedented defiance.
It has been made clear to SIOE that people intend to go to Brussels to do their own thing and even make their feelings known in Islamic sections of Brussels.
Therefore, we feel it would be much better to hold a demo under the original rules http://siad.wordpress.com/2007/07/11/aims-of-the-march-911/ which were very popular.
This will keep to the intention of having a peaceful demonstration and will make it easier to maintain the security and safety of demonstrators and the general public.
So the Stop Islamisation Of Europe demo goes ahead as planned.

I do not think it is a good idea to confront Muslims (and thereby provoke retaliation) by protesting in the ‘Islamic sections’ of the community. There should be plenty of wide open spaces in Brussels where protesters can make their feelings known without sparking off a riot.
Any violence (or provocation to violence) from our side will undo our best efforts for peaceful persuasion.

you guys screwed up – you said you had permission when you DID NOT – when the mayor refused permission you lacked the cojones to say the march was still on and now you still want to control it with your silly rules – its out of your hands now boys!!
SIAD says: SIOE never said they had permission. They cooperated with the police about the demonstration. Are you an autonomous or a nazi? Two of a kind by the way. It seems you are a little bit frustrated over something…I don’t know what, personal problems? Go elsewhere and let your frustrations out.

The terms under which the protest is conducted are not ’silly rules’. They are essential for the good reputation and success of the wider movement through Europe.
In any event, it is essential to stay united in spirit, good-humoured, self-disciplined and not to be drawn into party-political provocation.
