The understandable enthusiasm for the SIOE Demo has encouraged people to make many suggestions.
The Demo has these main aims
1. To show the world that Europeans and others have had enough of Sharia by stealth and creeping Islamism.
2. To be the first in a long line of similar events. We are in this for the long haul and continual opposition to Sharia and Islamism will bring us success.
3. To build up a network of millions of people, both as individuals and as members of likeminded organisations, determined to reverse Islamism and restore freedom.
This network will then provide the necessary mutual support for further events.
Therefore, the SIOE Brussels 9/11 Demo requires
RULES FOR THE DEMO TO ENSURE ITS SUCCESS
1. Only national flags and SIOE banners are allowed
Reasons
a) There will be many organisations and people who may differ on certain other matters, but are united in anti-Islamism.
We want everybody to feel comfortable marching together so displaying distinctive banners might provoke unnecessary ill feeling between marchers.
b) We must project a unified front to the world, in other words, impenetrable armour. Different banners etc will present a mixed and confusing message and enable the media to stick knives in the gaps of our armour, to discredit our achievements.
c) Showing banners of organisations that, for example, support oppressed people in Islamic states, will endanger those same people. Banners supporting oppressed people will similarly endanger those oppressed people and will therefore, be counterproductive.
NATIONAL FLAGS
National flags are desired to present an international unity of purpose.
SIOE understands that grievances exist between different nationalities, particularly with recent realignments of international borders.
However, the greatest threat to world peace is Islamism.
We therefore, wish people to shake hands (either in reality or metaphorically) for this one day and unite in challenging our common ideological opponent.
Flags will help people to order themselves in the demo where they feel most comfortable.
POLICING AND SAFETY
These rules have been agreed with the Brussels police.
Safety of protestors is our paramount concern. Safety of people across the world is just as important.

I am glad to see a clear and wise statement. The cooperation of all who are involved in the principles will result in a demonstration which gains wide support. Fear of fringe elements, although their goals may be as or more commendable than some others, could cause a loss of public support and cause problems for future events. wow just found out abot this event, i dont know if this as been brought up already or not, but you NEED to look into security:
this event has been planned for months, and many people know it will happen, including many muslims, we are basically speaking out about islam so there is a good chance some muslim will strap a bomb to himself and run into the crowd of 50,000+ yelling something stupid.
Maybe you should divert some of the protesters and have them form a perimeter around the mass as lookouts, another option is portable lifeguard-style towers to keep watch from. The riot police that will arrive will be keeping tabs on you not roaming muslims.

Honor (#14), by your account you are an assimilated Muslim living in freedom in Belgium. You live in a tolerant nation. In Saudia Arabia only Muslims can set foot in Mecca according to Muslim law. Is that tolerant? And no religious books or insignia (including especially Bibles or Torahs or jewelry made in the fashion of a cross or Star of David) are allowed. Again, is this “tolerant” and respectful of others rights and religions?
And perhaps you should consider whether the Pakistani female author (who was attacked by Muslims for writing a book) and has a fatwa for her death issued against her by Muslim “religious” leaders. That is the intolerance by Muslims of those who disagree with them: death. When societies that are tolerant allow intolerant and aggressive groups harbor, then there will be a conflict.
Instead of berating the Europeans on this board (calling them sheep and implying that they are stupid and full of “hate stuff”) you should take a look at the religion you say you are proud to claim as your own. Are you doing anything to end its extremist fatwas and intolerance? Could it be you are the one with your head in the sand? I hope not. Europe needs Muslims who understand that freedom of thought and religion are fundamental rights for each human being. The problem for many is that many Muslims do not subscribe to this view. A simple search for news stories on current events will elucidate the situation for you.

Abdul Rahman is not a muslim. It has been written by a person comitted to stop islam. You can see this in the way he writes but what he says could very well turn out to be true if we don’t act in time. Therefore it is crucial that we battle this coming threat to the world with all the power we have. Islam is even a bigger threat to world peace than the nazies and the communist ever was.

yes it is, communism at least aimed at making everyone equal, but its side effects we’re viewed by the world as terrible, and so the world rejected it. No one cared about hurting anyone else’s feelings, or being politically “incorrect” then.
Why is it that an ideology that in theory means well but does terrible things is spoken out against, but a different ideology that means to do terrible things AND DOES ATROCIOUS things is not, and is defended, and we are apologized to it on “our bahalf”?

am heartened to see that this demonstration is well planned and in no way can be accused of ‘extremist right-wing’ etc, as is suggested in our Belgian media. Pity it hasn’t happened years ago. Will certainly be there and will abide by the rules !

I protest against calling muslims “rodents” or any other denigrating name. Had any of us been born in a muslim country we wouldn’t know any better either but they are still our fellow human beings and deserve our respect. However this does not mean they have the right to effectively take over our free-thinking countries and impose their way of life on other fellow human beings such as us. We cannot even hold it against them to try : why not, if you’re welcomed into a western country where life is so much easier and plentyful ? The real culprit : our respective ‘leaders’ and politicians : they actively encouraged mass immigration, arranged for housing, double nationalities, child support, the establishment of mosques, etc etc., even whilst countries such as Belgium and Holland were already bursting at the seams and ‘open countryside’ a very rare commodity. With hundreds of thousands on the dole, the government claims that we need even more immigrants to fill in the jobs… is this sheer incompetence or part of some sinister plan ?
Have just heard on the radio that the demonstration of 9/11 is indeed forbidden… In ‘our’ European capital, where demonstrations against just about anything and anyone are allowed. Except against sharia, which is a direct threat to our homeland and way of life. So much for the free west. Has the rot set in too deep already ???
I will be there, as free citizen in my very own capital, come what may. It may very well be our last stand.

Christiana, you show a very perceptive and rational intelligence in your statement. I’m aware that Belgians do not obtain sufficient information from official or media sources in Belgium, so you must have obtained much of your knowledge from the internet. Do many people from Belgium have sufficient interest in the issue to feel much the same way? Do you think many Belgians will actively support the free speech and demonstration, or are they more likely to accept that the ruling is official, therefore legal and binding and disregard the motivation of the politicians?
I plan to use your comment in a posting, unless you object. Thanks for your clear statement of support. We who write on the subject sometimes don’t show the compassion for the islamic people which you show, although we may agree with it personally, because it detracts from the urgency with which we view the leftist/islamic situation.

feel free to use my comment.
From my many day-to-day contacts with my fellow citizens I know for a fact my vieuws are widely shared. As for active support, however, I fear that the Belgians in general are simply too lax (to avoid using the word scared) to jump on the barricades. They tend to mutter and protest in the safety of their living room but keep mum in public. Largely due to the fact that for decades the media have ostracized anyone who dared to criticize immigration and all its problems.
Have even had difficulties (years ago) to get people to sign quite innocent petitions (animal cruelty) as they were afraid to get into trouble with the authorities over this.
So, taking action against a real threat… I mainly pin my hopes on our fellow Europeans.
Moreover we cannot ignore the fact that it might get a bit rowdy ! 1/ the AEL plan a counter-demo, ‘against racism and prejudice’ in Europe and 2/extreme right-wing groups will probably also join the party. Not a situation to attract your average, meek Belgian who, to top it all, has the perfect excuse : it’s a workday.

Hello Christiana, I had the good fortune to study Islam for a year at Al Azhar Mosque University in Cairo.
It is easy to see how Islam came into being. It is also easy to see how it spread.
Mohammed known as the Prophet of God was a bandit. He organised raids on his own family’s caravans (the ‘other’ side of the family – and became quite rich. But he longed for recognition and so one day he appeared claiming that the angel Gabriel had appeared to him and told him that he was the appointed one of God and that he was to write the Koran. Now try and imagine that in what was a very unsophisticated society worshipping statues of things. To dare to suggest that he was making up the story was punished by his growing number of followers (initially his original robber band).
To you who think you know about Islam – I urge you to READ the Koran. Not fair to criticise it if you don’t.

In those days (and now – today) when the Islamic hordes arrived to rob, rape and kill (in the name of God y’know) they gave their victims three choices. Look it up on the net – it is well debated – you will see some Islamic scholars argue that she must have been at least 10 !
Here in deadly dull solid, stolid interesting as yesterday’s pizza Belgium – the ordinary people do NOT have the energy to get involved. They don’t know the horror which is working in too many streets. I agree that writer ‘Abdul Rahman’ is not a Muslim – but he puts the point quite well if naively.
I will be in Thailand when you have your demonstration – I wish you very well with it. Get a good video crew to film it with at least 3 cameras. It could network.

without having read the Qu’ran one picks up the odd fact and the picture I have thus formed corresponds with what you are telling us. I would like to read it but haven’t been able to lay my hands on it – not counting abridged versions and manipulated versions (what the Qu’ran really tells the faithful by Abdul something). Like most religions islam was founded by unscrupulous power-hungry men clever and devious enough to hoodwink the public. Claiming that god gives the males absolute power over the physically weaker half of humanity was undoubtedly a clever move which up to now still works just fine although I’m at a loss how, living in the modern world, there are still so many muslim women who fall for it. Well, I suppose if you really believe there is a higher being who gives a fig whether or not we put a piece of cloth on our head you’ll believe anything.
Hope we will both be proven wrong about the level of commitment of the Belgians but I’m afraid they will only wake up when directly threatened – if only to lower the blinds and double-lock the door.
